Jada Pinkett-Smith often uses her Facebook page as a blog or journal of sorts. She types out her inner most thoughts in the hopes of inspiring and creating a dialogue. One of her lastest posts did just that. The title is enough to spark thought, “The war on men through the degradation of women.” Welp. It feels as if women who enjoy looking like A-list celeb in name brands and false tresses is to blame for men finding themselves footing the bill for these women.
According to Jada, the woman that is incomplete is what’s wrong with men. That woman is silenced because her thoughts cloud the thoughts of men only seeking pleasure and she rots from the inside out because of her want for material things.
Because of Jada’s aspirational and successful relationship with Will Smith, there’s certain advice that I will listen to wholeheartedly and that’s her marriage advice. Check out what Jada had to say about marriage (visit her Facebook for the rest):
Give your marriage the title of union…maybe. Simply release your marriage, your husband and yourself from the criteria. Maybe this will create an opportunity to find something new, fresh and expansive.
But before marriage, there’s mere meeting and courtship and Jada thinks that men and women are both being led astray by the superficial wants of women. One of the points that stood out the most was, “They [women] had no idea that eventually, even men would render themselves empty and longing for meaning, depth and connection. There is a deep sadness when I witness a man that can’t recognize the emptiness he feels when he objectifies himself as a bank and truly believes he can buy love with things and status.”
I’m very interested in the bond that is sugar daddy and gold digger. Jada’s post seems to be an expose of the inner feelings of men searching for love that goes beyond arm candy. With women running around in 6-inch heels, body-hugging dresses and down-to-their-back weaves, we’re promoting an image that doesn’t lead to real love.
